OPERATION FEED THE SHEEP

OUR VISION AND MISSION

Food Bank Project is the forum whereby the citizens of our Country can receive food items that are donated or supplied to food banks to be distributed to Nigerians in need. It is otherwise known as Operation Feed the Sheep.

Food Bank Project partners with individuals, corporate organizations, foundations, churches, ministries, non-governmental organizations and government parastatals in order to strategize and donate foods for those who need.

Food Bank Project was created also to give people across Nigeria a way to donate much needed food and grocery items to less privileged people in our communities.

Food Bank concept was created by RAJI KEMI-RICH, the founder of Breaking Free in Christ Ministries International and Freedom Life Mission, who began working on it as a passion project when he served in the Philippines as a missionary. The project was explored as a vehicle for the groups’ outreach to the inner-cities in Metro Manila and its suburbs.

Food Bank Project also provides online opportunities for anyone who which to donate towards our Operation Feed the Sheep projects, as easily as if they were giving their gifts physically.

Now, we are set for full operation in Nigeria, thanks to the generous support of our donors and the commitment of our Food Bank teams.

We trust God that our Food Bank Project will expand to the 36 states of our nation and around all the regions and states, so that all Nigerians can have access to regular food supply and donations.

WHY FOOD BANK PROJECT

Every day we see millions of Nigerians asking for supports to feed their family because of the recession, through the social media platforms, especially Facebook Messenger, looking for help, healing and hope.

The mission of Food Bank Project is to respond to their requests, translate their needs to supplies, transform the life of the average Nigerian and reform our society. Food Bank Project is the primary way we carry out our vision and mission in a practical way, which is Operation Feed the Sheep.

At Operation Feed the Sheep we are working collaboratively to address the issues of food scarcity and financial hardship in our Country. Our objective is to provide food-enhancing practices for Nigerians experiencing poverty related hunger.

Food supplies are the first step to receiving support through the Food Bank Projects and to transform the lives of the people. But, it doesn't end there. We intend moving from just giving them "fish" to teaching them "how to fish".

In the meantime, we want everyone who reaches out to us for sustenance to have a hand up when they need it the most, and to feel supported and dignified, no matter their situation or background.

FOOD BANK PROJECT - CASH DONATION

By making a cash donation to our Food Bank Project, you will provide funds to help cover the administrative and operational costs of the Operation Feed the Sheep.

Your funds will cover the costs of things such as:

* Administrative expenses

* Support to increase capacity for food supply and storage

* Covering any food shortages

* Electricity for food storage

* New fridges and freezers for keeping food safe and fresh

* Pantry storage

* Racks and pallets

Your financial support enables us to continue to provide food and other important services at our food banks.

*Please note, these amounts can be increased from time to time as you so desire.

MANAGING THE FOOD BANK PROJECT

Our Food Bank team ensures the food distributions reach the people who really need it.

Federal and state law penalties would be meted to those who defraud or try to sabotage the projects or processes of distribution.

HOW FOOD BANK PROJECT WORK

Those who need food can receive raw food items from any of our Food Bank outlets across the Country after registering at our centers or through online registration.

Our delivery vans will deliver donated items to Food Banks across the regions, states and Country. Food parcels are picked up from the Food Bank centers by the people in need.

Your financial donations are made to FBP and Operation Feed the Sheep bank accounts or through our various e-banking systems.

Food Bank Project provides online services for both our donors and donee, therefore it works in a very unique way. As a donor of Food Bank Project, you can choose from a range of methods that are most suitable for you to give to the projects. The actual distribution of the items is monitored by our Food Bank team to ensure there is accountability and the process is safe and secure.

Donees can also make requests online through our registered agencies, so they can make their requisition securely online. The requisition order is made through our administrative office. The delivery of your order is done through our distribution team, who packs your order and deliver it free of charge to the nearest food bank.

Every item you donate is included in a food parcel which is given to people in need in the communities. Operation Feed the Sheep generously provides all food at no cost, meaning your supplies are made possible through the donations of our partners. After every online requisition, you will receive a confirmation of your request as well as a delivery note that your donation is being sent directly to your nearest food bank.

FOOD BANK PROJECT works with the Operation Feed the Sheep to provide food assistance to families. If you are in a desperate situation, and do not have money to provide food for yourself or your family, we can help.

Food Bank Project's aim is to give you a helping hand so that you can gain a greater level of control over your life and situation. Lack of income is often the reason that people ask for food. Alongside short-term assistance with food and other essential amenities, Food Bank Project links people into longer-term support such as job opportunities, wealth creation, practical parenting classes, short-term budgeting advice.

The Food Bank staff work with people to assess their situations and give them opportunities to deal with their challenges.

Our support is provided through Operation Feed the Sheep centers and other partnering agencies. It's best to contact a Food Bank Centre near you directly or through our contacts online.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I GO TO A FOOD BANK CENTER?

When you visit one of our Food Bank Centers, you will undergo an assessment with one of the staff. If you are eligible for help, we will make sure you are registered with us, which will make it easier for us to reach you and serve you better. The assessment also gives us an opportunity to find out if we can help improve your situation.
