NO LONGER SLAVE

The Apostle Paul declares, “It is for freedom that CHRIST has set us free.” (Galatians 5:1) NKJV

The story OF CHRIST, as it comes to us through the Scripture, is a story of freedom. He came to set the captives free. He came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. Still, the freedom that we have in CHRIST is constrained by the Cross and it's opposing to our individualistic interpretation of freedom.

Scriptures: Galatians 5:1 - Amplified Version

"It was for this freedom that CHRIST set us free, completely liberating us: therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery, which you once removed" (Galatians 5:1) Amplified Version

"The Biblical explanation of our freedom in CHRIST is that He came to rescue us from the bondage of sin, sickness, self, and satan. He offers us absolute freedom in this life and eternity.

It is through faith in the finished work of CHRIST that we are truly free. He sets us free from the death and judgment that we deserve for violating God's law.

FREE FROM THE BONDAGE OF SIN AND SATAN

While we may from time to time battle with sin in our lives, we are no longer slaves to it. The dominion that CHRIST has over sin and satan has set us free from the bondage of sin and satan. Still, we do not use our freedom in CHRIST as liberty to gratify the desires of our flesh and continue to sin against God.

Now that we are in CHRIST, we are no longer slaves to vanity, profanity, pride, lust, bitterness, pornography, addiction, greed, adultery, idolatry, fornication, uncontrolled rage, covetousness, debauchery, abusive behavior, gluttony, selfishness—and any other sinful pleasure. We are set free in CHRIST and we are free indeed!

IT IS THE POWER OF CHRIST THAT SETS US FREE

It is the power of CHRIST that sets us free. The Scripture says, "If the Son of God shall therefore make you free, you shall be free indeed". (John 8: 36). Because of everything that the LORD JESUS CHRIST did for us, we can live free and walk free.

Let's Pray:

Heavenly FATHER, I thank You for the opportunity to hear and receive Your WORD. I accept Your provisions of freedom by faith in JESUS' name. I receive grace to work worthy of You unto all pleasing, being fruitful unto every good work in JESUS name. Amen.

JESUS REIGNS!
