HARVEST IN DIFFICULT SEASON

Updated: Jun 22, 2022

God wants you to experience harvest even during the difficult seasons of your life. He wants to give you harvests all year through when you are walking in His will and obey His instruction.

After Noah had obeyed God, by building an ark when it had not been raining on the earth for a long time, God told him, "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest... will not cease". (Genesis 8:22).

This happened when the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, a soothing, satisfying scent of Noah's obedience and faith. The Lord said to Himself in verse 21, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intent (strong inclination, desire) of man’s heart is wicked from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done." (Amplified version)

Scriptures:

"While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest will not cease". Genesis 8:22

In more contemporary terms, God is telling us from the Scriptures that no matter what we go through, His love for us is consistent. When we face the unknown and unexpected tragedies of life, we can trust that He's got our back, He is in control and He is working out every situation for our good.

He is also saying that the harvest will come when we follow His instructions. When we follow the process and principle of Seed, Time, and Harvest. We can expect a harvest from God because we have planted a seed of obedience and faith in His promises. We can count on Him to perform in our lives what He promised us.

The seed we plant will not produce harvests overnight, but it will produce over time. Because God is a God of plan, purpose, and objectivity. He is a miracle-working God, not a magician. He is not both interested in giving us a harvest to profit our lives and to harvest our souls for His Kingdom, by building in us good and godly character.

THE MOST IMPORTANT SEED TO EXPERIENCE HARVEST

Lastly, the most important seed that God requires from us to experience harvest is our obedience and faith. This is shown in the story of Noah. He built an ark in obedience to God when it didn't make sense to do so, and He did it when everyone around him considered his action senseless and unreasonable. He did it in faith.

Hebrews 11:7 states, "By faith, Noah built a ship in the middle of dry land. He was warned about something he couldn’t see, and acted on what he was told. The result? His family was saved. His act of faith drew a sharp line between the evil of the unbelieving world and the rightness of the believing world. As a result, Noah became intimate with God. (Message Bible)

Isaac, the son of Abraham, also, sowed a seed in the land of Gerah during the time of famine, in obedience to God's instruction that he should remain there. All the odds were against him to flee where he was, but he planted his seeds anyway. He did it in obedience and faith, and his harvest came the same year a hundredfold. (Genesis 26:1,12)

Your obedience to God may not make natural sense to the people around you. Also, they may not appreciate or accept your process. But, if you stand with God in trust and obey Him, He will reward you with an unprecedented harvest in the most difficult times.

Let's Pray:

Heavenly FATHER, I bless Your name for Your promise of harvest for the seed that I sow in faith and obedience, not in unbelief. I receive grace to always obey Your instructions, even when my physical senses can't contain it. I thank You that my harvest will not fail. I receive it by faith in JESUS' name. Amen.

JESUS REIGNS!
