Why Does MMD Exist?

Why are marriage mentorship and discipleship important?

Marriage Mentorship and Discipleship programs, programs, and events are aimed at helping couples to strengthen their relationship and make their marriage work. This we have accomplished over the years in the lives and relationships of many couples! Many couples we relate to are continuing to connect with us and affecting many other couples, as well.

Many couples who walk and work with us have become marriage mentors and disciple-makers helping other couples to have happier and healthier relationships.

How can I be part of the Marriage Mentorship and Discipleship programs and projects?

If you want to be part of what we do, you may consider the following questions?

Are you a believer in CHRIST?
Do you have the passion to help others make their relationship work?
Are you willing to learn and lead others to enjoy their marriage? Note that only good learners become great leaders.
Are you willing to invest time in growing your own marriage?
Are you committed to God and your relationship?
Are you willing to give your time to assist another couple who is going through a crisis in their relationship?

About MMD

What is Marriage Mentorship and Discipleship Class About?

It’s a Scriptural and practical way for aspiring, intending, and married couples to learn how to strengthen their relationships and make them work. They will also learn how to help other couples – on their journey of marriage.

MMD Class lasts for a little over twenty-one weeks. The Courses are divided into twenty-one, 45-minutes to 1-hour per session. We do it online over a period of time. Each session entails group discussions, teaching and training sessions, interactive sessions of questions and answers, couples talk, and prayer time.

Together we will impact the lives and relationships of couples!

What does it take to attend the MMD Class?

To attend the Marriage Mentorship and Discipleship Class, as a couple you must, first of all, have:

A relationship with God and be willing to submit to His WORD as your final authority in life and marriage.
A shared interest in learning and strengthening your relationship.
A desire to have a happier and healthier relationship
A decision to help other people to make their relationship and marriage work.

Of course, you don't need to have a perfect relationship, but you should be driven to have an ever-growing relationship and aim for a more excellent one. What we strive for at MMD is excellence, not necessarily perfection. We make efforts to improve our relationships and marriages in the best way possible and keep moving on even though we do not have a definitive one hundred percent result.

Our information and knowledge base are ever-increasing, so you have the opportunity to learn new things and new approaches to make your relationship and marriage work!

Does the MMD Class come with a cost?

We do not prioritize money in any of our programs. Our classes are free for all participants, however, the training manuals and resources often come with a cost. What is provided in the MMD Class?

In addition to the online training sessions, you’ll have:

Your Personal Journal for you and your spouse to go through regularly
A Questionnaire to regularly assess your relationship and how you are progressing
Connection with other couples in our online community
Recommended resources for ongoing training and constantly growing.

What is One-on-One Marriage Mentorship and Discipleship About?

The One-on-One Marriage Mentoring and Discipleship Program is designed to pair couples who need help in their relationship with a sound and seasoned couple who have experience in marriage counseling and couples therapy/ministry.

The program is intended to provide young couples or couples who are going through a crisis with a volunteer instructor and/or mentor who will help them strengthen their relationships, prayerfully address the issues in their marriage and trust God with them for a lasting solution.

The One-on-One Marriage Mentorship and Discipleship Program aims to provide relevant counseling and assistance to people in relationships and we are careful to match appropriate mentors to them and provide an ongoing marriage support system for them.

The program serves the parties in a relationship: Men and women, who have been referred by people in our community and walk-in members. Particularly couples who preparing to marry or newly married couples. The program helps them to cultivate new habits from the beginning of their relationships which would benefit them throughout their lives.

Issues like conflict management, compatibility and adaptability, finances and money management, developing sexual intimacy, dealing with in-laws and out-laws, celebrating holidays and special days, creating family traditions, and developing a devotional lifestyle as a couple and a host of others will be addressed.

For Instructors and Mentors

How can I get involved in the MMD Team Group?

You don't need a leadership training background to get involved, however, if you have been a leader in a church, para-church organizations, or ministries, it would serve as an added advantage. Any of our programs can be handled by laypeople who love the LORD and have a heart for people. The preparation they need is to attend our training and teaching sessions.

Can Marriage Mentorship and Discipleship be used to bring couples to the LORD JESUS CHRIST?

Yes! We see Marriage Mentorship and Discipleship as an amazing opportunity to evangelize and disciple couples in the WORD of God. We believe that the only lasting solution to the marital malady rocking many relationships and families is found in the "Owner's Manual" which is the WORD of God. That is why the Scripture is the number one resource material we encourage couples to look to improve their relationships and marriages. It is a well-tested and trusted tool that has helped many couples of different generations to build a thriving marriage and family life.

Does MMD have teaching materials for its programs?

YES, however, we also use other materials from seasoned and sound Marriage Counselors and Therapists. We partner with Marriage Ministries with long-standing testimonies of impact on the lives of couples. This is because we believe in partnering in our mission’s projects and programs. Our materials have worked well for several couples, but we believe there are many resource materials on the subject of marriage and relationships that can enrich and empower couples and help them have a happy and healthy relationship.
